You know that exciting feeling when you’re waiting for a package? When you get the package? When you open up the exciting package and you hurry to take pictures and then FINALLY you get to try on the product… Have you ever found the perfect product? How about the perfect lipstick?
I am about to make a pretty big statement… I have found my perfect nude lipstick.
Finding the perfect lipstick happened by chance, I purchased the YSL Glossy Stain in the shade Corail Aquatique, long story short – I hated it! Even longer story short, I swapped my YSL Glossy Stain with a friend for MAC Flair For Finery lipstick – the lipstick that I have fallen in love with.
Flair For Finery is a part of MAC Cosmetics Divine Night holiday collection for 2013. I tend to avoid MAC collections lately because there seems to be a new one every five minutes! Also, what happens if I find something I can’t live without and it never gets made permanent! The Divine Night collection has the best packaging, it is beautiful! The tube is a matte black with gold details instead of a shimmery black with silver details, even the MAC logo is gold!
Flair For Finery is described as “a cool pink nude” which is pretty accurate but I find this lipstick to be a lovely neutral nude on myself. Flair For Finery has the perfect amount of pink and beige for my skin tone. It is a Lustre finish, semi opaque and glossy! The best way to describe Flair For Finery is kind of like my favorite pink nude mixed with my favorite beige nude! When worn either sheer or opaque, Flair For Finery does not wash me out on bit, I think it does the opposite, my face seems brighter when I’m wearing it!
The best thing about this lipstick is that it applies sheer and can be built up to be opaque. I think this is when most people wouldn’t like this type of lipstick. I find that when applied thicker, you have to kind of wait for the lipstick to melt into your lips and it is definitely worth it! If you have a lipstick that applies a bit chunky, try waiting for it to “melt in” and you may have a new favorite lipstick!
Basically what I’m saying is if you get the chance you kinda might need Flair For Finery. I’m already buying a backup – something I haven’t ever done with a lipstick!
Hello everyone! I’ve been buying quite a few things online and picked up a couple of things from Mecca Maxima! If you follow me in Instagram you may have already seen a sneak peak!
The first thing I have is a YSL Glossy Stain, this is in the shade #7 Corail Aquatique! I am not usually a fan if coral shades haha, I’m not sure how this ones gonna go!
Next I have some of my favourite goodies, NARS! From NARS I have a sharpener, Foundation, Multiple & Cream Blush!
And lastly some MAC stuff! I got 5 lipsticks and a concealer (not pictured)
For some swatches you can check out my video! Although I’ll be reviewing all of them over the next few weeks!
When I bought Viva Glam Nicki 2 Lipstick by MAC I didn’t really put much thought into how to wear it, I just had to have it! I know I’m not alone in this so I thought I’d show some ways that I wear Viva Glam Nicki 2!
You just have to experiment with colours that are a bit different or out of your comfort zone!
MAC Snob… Where do I start. Snob by MAC is my favourite lipstick, ever! Anyone who lives in Australia would know that MAC Isn’t cheap here. One MAC lipstick is going to set you back $36 AUD. I usually buy high end makeup online but there are so many fake MAC products around that I only buy them from trusted sites. When I found a dupe for Snob I was pretty happy to say the least!
I own six out of the millions (so it seems) of shades available from NYX Cosmetics. I’m the type of person to do my research before buying makeup online because more often than not the swatches look nothing like the image provided online. When my NYX order arrived (I buy 3 at a time) I was so happy to see Power on my lips and I wore it everyday for a week or so! As usual I reached for MAC Snob a couple of days after constantly wearing NYX Power and that’s when I realized they are pretty similar!
Snob is definitely more on the mauve/purple side and so is Power! Power is definitely more purple. The textures of the two are where they are most different. Snob is a “satin finish” but is matte on my lips! It is pretty drying without a balm underneath. Power is creamy and isn’t drying at all! Snob lasts longer on the lips and Power leaves a strange goo after a while but most NYX lipsticks do as far as I know!
NYX lipsticks range from $2 to $10 depending on where you live or where you buy them and we all know the price of MAC lipsticks! I think Power is a good dupe for Snob, either way I love them both!xx Amanda
I thought I’d do a quick FOTD! My skin has been a bit dry lately so I gave my face a break! I just went with a moisturiser for my skin. I used my E.l.f Eyebrow kit, I could wear nothing but this and be happy! I’m not super sold on the Essence Get Big Mascara, it is super flakey and crumbly after a few hours which sucked.
I wore my extensions today and If you don’t already know, Snob by MAC is a commonly used lipstick in my life! I used my Revlon Just Bitten Kissale Balm Stain in Darling Cherie to gloss it out and tone it down a bit. This lip combo matched my dip dye which I thought was so cute!
My birthday is just under two weeks away and every year I put together some kind of list for my boyfriend. The idea is I pick a list of things I would like for my birthday and he chooses some things from the list! Usually I tell my mum what I want most haha.
This list has been saved in Wordpad for a while but I thought I’d make it all pretty for my Blog!
MAC Single Eyeshadow – Blanc Type $33 AUD
This is a really pretty base colour. I nearly bought it couple of weeks ago but didn’t, I don’t know why!
MAC Lipstick – Modesty, Pink Plaid & Snob $36 AUD
I only own 3 MAC lipsticks and Snob is one of them, my first actually! I’m nearly out so I thought having another will stop me from holding back on using it! Modesty & Pink Plaid are absolutely gorgeous too!
Yves Saint Laurent Golden Gloss – Pebble $48 AUD
I think the Golden Glosses are absolutely beautiful, ever since I saw them I wanted one which was another problem, what shade?! I think this would be the perfect first YSL lip product to own. Pebble really stood out to me and that’s what I’m sticking with… Quick! Before I change my mind!
Stila Sun Bronzing Powder – Shade 2 $30.30 AUD
I have never found my HG bronzer, Nars Laguna is good… but not the best I feel. I have read quite a bit about this bronzer, almost every review said shade 1 was too orange but shade 2 was perfect, so shade 2 it is!
Nars The Multiple – Riviera $50.50 AUD
Nars Multiples are one of my favourite products. Ever. I have two but they seem so lonely…
Nars Ita Kabuki Artisan Brush $50.50 AUD
So beautiful, I have wanted this since I got the Yachiyo brush
Thanks for reading!
So a couple of days ago I was going to post my August favorites in writing & pictures but I ran out of time so I made a video!
This is my first ever talking video, so be nice!
