I Have Found The Perfect Nude Lipstick!

You know that exciting feeling when you’re waiting for a package? When you get the package? When you open up the exciting package and you hurry to take pictures and then FINALLY you get to try on the product… Have you ever found the perfect product? How about the perfect lipstick?

I am about to make a pretty big statement… I have found my perfect nude lipstick.

Finding the perfect lipstick happened by chance, I purchased the YSL Glossy Stain in the shade Corail Aquatique, long story short – I hated it! Even longer story short, I swapped my YSL Glossy Stain with a friend for MAC Flair For Finery lipstick – the lipstick that I have fallen in love with.

Flair For Finery is a part of MAC Cosmetics Divine Night holiday collection for 2013. I tend to avoid MAC collections lately because there seems to be a new one every five minutes! Also, what happens if I find something I can’t live without and it never gets made permanent! The Divine Night collection has the best packaging, it is beautiful! The tube is a matte black with gold details instead of a shimmery black with silver details, even the MAC logo is gold!

Flair For Finery is described as “a cool pink nude” which is pretty accurate but I find this lipstick to be a lovely neutral nude on myself. Flair For Finery has the perfect amount of pink and beige for my skin tone. It is a Lustre finish, semi opaque and glossy! The best way to describe Flair For Finery is kind of like my favorite pink nude mixed with my favorite beige nude! When worn either sheer or opaque, Flair For Finery does not wash me out on bit, I think it does the opposite, my face seems brighter when I’m wearing it!

The best thing about this lipstick is that it applies sheer and can be built up to be opaque. I think this is when most people wouldn’t like this type of lipstick. I find that when applied thicker, you have to kind of wait for the lipstick to melt into your lips and it is definitely worth it! If you have a lipstick that applies a bit chunky, try waiting for it to “melt in” and you may have a new favorite lipstick!

Basically what I’m saying is if you get the chance you kinda might need Flair For Finery. I’m already buying a backup – something I haven’t ever done with a lipstick!

Orange Lips Alert! Innoxa Matte Lipstick in Tangerine & Invisible Lip Liner!

Hey everyone! If you already have Instagram you will already know how many competitions are held on there! So I entered an Innoxa competition, all you have to do is repost a picture to have a chance of winning, and I won!

image

For anyone who doesn’t know, Innoxa was created in France in 1920. The brand prides itself by being hypo-allergenic and good for your face! The products are also paraben free & not tested on animals, yay! Innoxa is stocked in Myer, Priceline and various pharmacies in Australia and also in New Zealand.

So today my little package arrived with a letter stating what I have won and some pretty, colorful pictures, so many pretty colours… Back to what I was saying…

image
image

The first product I have here is the Invisible Lip Shaper. According to the Innoxa website the Invisible Lip Shaper softens and contours the lips and can also be used as a lip primer. I’m super happy about this product because I don’t own a lip primer! I also like that this can be worn under any shade I like! The Invisible Lip Shaper has a baby pink pearlescent tube, the packaging is really pretty!

image

The Invisible Lip Primer makes the lips appear matte, the texture is like a combination of soft wax and a balm! I really like the way it makes my lips look! I can’t really capture that in a photo since it is invisible, of course.

image

And now for the best bit, new lipstick! I’m a serious lipstick hoarder and this lipstick is the reason I entered the competition! So here I have the Summer Matte Lipstick in the shade Tangerine! Innoxa Summer Matte Lipsticks contain Jojoba oil and vitamins C & E which will be great for my lips!

image

image

The colour is no joke, it is seriously Tangerine, it’s like an explosion of orange and it makes my teeth look awesomely white! This is definitely not a “grandma orange” (unless you have a really awesome grandma)! The lipstick is housed in a square silver tube with Innoxa printed on the lid. There is a colour window at the bottom that shows the colour of the lipstick inside!

If you live in Australia or New Zealand, I recommend checking out Innoxa! Both of these products retail for $14.95. The lipstick formula is so creamy and moisturizing! If you are from elsewhere in the world then I guess you’re just going to have to go without… Or wait for my awesome giveaway hint hint!

* The products discussed In this post were won by me from the brand Innoxa (yay). The opinions are my own and this is not sponsored in any way!

Australis Colour Inject Mineral Lipstick in Hustle, Review & Swatches.

image

I think it may be a little obvious by now that I like Australis! Especially the Australis Colour Inject Mineral lipsticks. The packaging is great, sleek and pretty. The newest Australis lipstick to my collection is Hustle. Like all of the other Australis lipsticks I own, Hustle has a creamy, semi opaque texture. There is, as always, a kind of plastic smell although it isn’t overpowering!

image

Hustle is a gorgeous pastel apricot colour, originally I was a little worried the colour would look a bit ‘concealer lips’ but it doesn’t, yay! I’m really happy I bought this right at the beginning of spring, I can’t wait to wear it with glowing skin in spring & summer! I absolutely love and recommend Australis lipsticks and I can’t wait to get some more shades (when I’m not on a spending ban, of course!). They really do have a shade for everyone!

Essence – 50’s Girls Reloaded Lipstick Review & Swatches

Essence is pretty hard for me to get my hands on at the moment, the limited edition stuff isn’t available online and both of my local Pricelines don’t stock it. The only place it is available near me is Target and for some reason, the Essence makeup at Target is… Disgusting. It is always used and has makeup all over the display, I don’t know why but it seems people love to destroy Essence haha. For some reason lately I have just skipped the Essence collections and I only bought two things this time.

image

I love Essence because they are ridiculously cheap! The lipstick was $3.99 and the brush was $3.50. I’m really not a fan of dual ended brushes but I thought this would be good to keep in my travel makeup bag! It comes in an adorable clear plastic pouch and has the 50’s Girls Reloaded design on a piece of card. On the back it says to apply eyeshadow with the bigger side and blend with the smaller side… I might use it opposite though! The brush is pearlescent white with blue bristles and ferrules. The bigger side is more dense and the smaller side is very flimsy, maybe good for the lower lash line. It is definitely worth the tiny price of $3.50!

image

The lipstick is called 02 I’m Sailing and it is what caught my eye. The packaging seems to be a bit of a rip off of MAC but shimmery white instead of black. The tube is also a tad chunkier! The colour is adorable, it’s like a quiet dupe of NARS Lodhi Satin Lip Pencil (yay)! I’m Sailing is a sheer buttery apricot coral, the colour when applied too much does slip around and settle in patches so I think it is best worn sheer! I absolutely love this lipstick, it is what I was hoping from Lodhi because I find Lodhi is a bit much! I’m going to try and find another one of these lipsticks because I grabbed the last one at Target. For $3.99 this lipstick is perfect!

image

There is another colour but it is a deep pinky red colour and that’s not really a colour I’m into! I can’t wait to wear this lipstick, it seems I purchased at a perfect time for a daytime spring lip colour! Do you love an orange lip? xx Amanda

Haul & Spending Ban!

Hey everyone, I’ve decided to do a 30 Day Spending Ban! Over my birthday I ordered so many things online and they’re going to take a while to get here, I figured that it would be a great time to do a spending ban! Of course, any excuse for shopping, I picked up a few things tonight before the spending ban starts tomorrow! I also had a $5 voucher from Priceline for my birthday, yay!

image

Also, I need glasses, I’m supposed to wear them every time I read, type, watch tv… All the fun stuff! I tried on (for aaaages), chose and paid for my glasses. I called to check what the hold up was and I found out my order was never processed to begin with because “sorry, it was the new guy…” Awesome… My eyes have been red and veiny and sooo sore so naturally I’ve been trying to avoid typing which means less blogging more online shopping… Well that’s what I’ve been doing anyway.

I hope everyone is doing well!
